Excursion to Timanfaya and the Jameos del Agua
Discover incredible volcanic landscapes with this excursion around Lanzarote, which takes you to the Timanfaya National Park and the spectacular Jameos del Agua.
Timanfaya and the Jameos del Agua Tour Itinerary
Having picked you up at your hotel at 9 am, we'll begin the tour around Lanzarote with the western part of the Island.
We make our first stop in el Golfo. In this volcanic area, known for its beauty, we'll reach the Charco de los Clicos otherwise known as "The Green Lake" - whose unusual color is a result of the algae and sulfur in its waters. The beauty of the lake did not go unnoticed by Pedro Almodovar, who shot one of the main scenes of the Spanish movie "Los Abrazos Rotos" (Broken Embraces) here, with Penelope Cruz.
Our next destination will be the Timanfaya National Park. We'll pass through its almost lunar landscape, splashing in the volcanic craters. The force of nature in this place is undeniable: something we'll put to the test with practical demonstrations in the geysers in the park. And for those who want, there is the possibility of an optional camel ride.
Leaving the park, we'll pass through the picturesque villages and make a stop so you can get some lunch in Yaiza or Mancha Blanca. Once our batteries are recharged, we'll set off for La Geria. In this volcanic region, the best wines on the island are cultivated, and we'll visit a vineyard to try a glass of Lanzarote's finest.
Afterwards, we make our way to the North of the island to see one of the works of the great architect and artist César Manrique. We'll head through the famous "Valley of a Thousand Palms" to see the Jameos del Agua. This space made from a volcanic tunnel is a part auditorium, part restaurant, and part swimming pool - the natural environment complete with a lake, the habitat of the diminutive blind crabs only found in Lanzarote.
From here the tour returns, dropping you off at around 7 pm.
