Famara Beach

Famara Beach

Famara Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote, as well as being one of the largest on the island due to the 6 kilometres of golden sand that stretch along the northwest coast. Discover how to visit Famara Beach!

With its pale golden sands and dramatic mountain backdrop, the wild beauty of Famara Beach makes it one of the most visited beaches in Lanzarote. Thanks to its size - stretching for 6 kilometres along the island's northwest coast - it's rarely crowded and is the perfect place for long beach walks.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote

One of the main reasons Famara Beach is rated so highly is that it has remained virtually untouched. However, this unspoilt location does mean there's a lack of facilities, something to bear in mind if you prefer to have showers, shop and enjoy restaurants close by.

Thanks to its positioning on the map, Famara Beach is very popular amongst surfers. If you're looking for a beach to go swimming, bear in mind that strong currents here mean there's almost always a red flag that prohibits people from going in to swim.

How to get to Famara Beach

As with most beaches on Lanzarote, the only way to reach Famara Beach is by car. To do this, you can head to the small fishing village of Caleta de Famara where the beach is located, and you'll find car parking right in front of it.
