What is the Parque del Drago?

Parque del Drago (Drago Park) is a 3-hectares botanical garden, home to a striking and enormous Dragon tree, one of the oldest in the island. The one-thousand-year-old tree stands 16 meters (52 ft)-tall.

Learn about the history of this natural and cultural symbol of the Canary Islands and discover the main local flora found in Tenerife, including small dragos, cardones and tabaibas, among others. While you stroll through the park, enjoy the natural beauty of this natural space with the impressive Teide volcano in the background.

Discover the legends and customs of the region by exploring an old winery, where wine was produced and penetrate into an ancient sacred cave.

Opening hours

The Parque del Drago opens every day of the week. Its opening hours vary depending on the season:

  • 1 April – 30 September: from 9am until 8pm.
  • 1 October – 31 March: from 10am until 6pm.
